		<description>No, I hear the similarities but &quot;Nine in the Afternoon&quot; is probably just a coincidence to &quot;Mr. Blue Sky&quot;.  The repetive guitar/piano beating in the beginning and the violins at the end (only on album version of Mr. Blue Sky) are characteristics of both songs.

However, Electric Light Orchestra&#039;s aim was to pick up where The Beatles had broke up, fallen.  So of course if this Panic at the Disco song sounds like ELO, then it should all sound like The Beatles.

Tried a bunch of sources but no one says that the two songs are related somehow.</description>
