Anyone know about ELO album cover art for “Discovery”?

Does anyone know who did the artwork on the cover of the Electric Light Orchestra album, "Discovery" or have any information about it?

I don’t actually own the album but for certain personal reasons, I find the art fascinating and I’m curious about the artist’s inspiration.

The illustrator is Shusei Nagaoka. He also worked on albums by Earth, Wind and Fire – Jefferson Starship – Deep Purple – Space – and a few others
